Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes
Ok, friends, I want to share some information with you that I recently found out and has basically changed my life. I’m kind of being dramatic when I say that, but for someone who loves pancakes as much as I do, it really is life changing.
I came across an Instagram account called Arielle Says and became fascinated with the story being told. The person who runs the blog, Arielle, is a twenty something who has lost over a 100 pounds using Weight Watchers and shares her journey on Instagram. She’ll mention various kinds of food and brands that are good replacements for the usual indulgences and one day she posted a picture of Kodiak CakesPower Cakes. I immediately went to the grocery store and picked up a box. It’s slightly pricer than your usual box of pancake mix, but it’s completely worth it because it’s a mix packed full of whey protein and whole grains. So instead of me spending hours trying to make my own healthy pancakes from scratch, I can just mix a few cups of Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes with a cup of milk and I’m good to go. There are a couple different flavors and options, but I've stuck with buttermilk flapjack and waffle mix.
I haven't mastered the art of the pancake making process - the heat, the greased pan, the flipping (especially the flipping), so the pancakes pictures below do not look picture perfect, but I can promise that if you’re a pancake fanatic like me, you will appreciate these pancakes so so sooo much.
I eat all pancakes with peanut butter, so obviously I eat it with these too. You can also never go wrong by throwing on some fresh fruit. On this day, it was blueberries. Enjoy, people. Please let me know if you’ve tried Kodiak Cakes and what you think!
