Your Go-To Healthy Green Smoothie for 2017
I’ve been making this smoothie for a few years now and I haven’t gotten sick of it, which says a lot because I tend to obsess over food items and then get burnt out on them. Plus, I thought it would be a great recipe to post around the New Year with all the guaranteed health resolutions (my own included). The absolute best thing about this green smoothie other than the fact that it tastes awesome is that it has a ton of spinach in it but tastes like fruit. Who doesn’t love getting their veggies in disguise (what am I, four?). So, let’s get to it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup frozen fruit of your choice
1 cup spinach
1 cup Greek yogurt of your choice
I like to throw in some fresh fruit other than the banana if I have some on hand and this day I happened to have blueberries, so I tossed in a handful. It can also be nice to blend in a few ice cubes just to make the smoothie cold and refreshing,
Now the tough part – throw it all in a blender and pulse. I like to use a single serve blender like my Hamilton Beach you see in the picture.
Normally I would also include a spoonful of peanut butter but unfortunately I was out, so I went without it. Such a sad day, but still incredibly delicious so don’t worry if you don’t have it.
That’s it folks. Super simple and perfect for a quick lunch (I’d throw in some protein powder if you want to use it as meal replacement) or an after work out treat.
