Everything You Need to Know About Zeiss Blue Light Lenses
After I graduated college and settled into my first full-time job, there were a lot of things I had to get used to. For starters, no more midday naps or being done for the day by two in the afternoon. This was all very sad, but the worst thing that happened to me was the headaches.
Sure a headache every now and then is a common thing, but it got to the point where I was coming home every day wanting to do nothing but go to bed because my head hurt so bad. You know when you get a headache and you just feel exhausted from dealing with it? That was me almost every week night.
After complaining about it for a substantial amount of time, I finally decided to make an appointment with my PA. She gave me some information on migraines, but I was convinced almost immediately that my discomfort was stemming from the fact that I stare at a computer all day, every day. After doing a quick eye test, she recommended I get an eye exam. I had never had a formal eye exam before because my vision had always checked out great in the doctor’s office. And my vision still was very sharp during the quick eye test, but she thought it couldn’t hurt to get an exam.
I called and had an exam the very next day. I went to the Shopko Eyecare Center because it was the closest place to my house and my PA recommended it. After a bunch of sight tests, I was told that I might need a slight prescription, but I should also try and have better posture and stay a further distance away from my computer screen. I was definitely willing to try these things, but I wasn’t sure doing them would make my headaches go away.
It was right before I was about to leave when the ladies up front told me about these great new lenses Zeiss had just come out with. They’re called DuraVision BlueProtect. I asked what that meant and it was explained that these new lenses protect eyes from the blue light that radiates off of computer screens, TVs and basically any digital device.
I couldn’t believe I basically stumbled upon theses glasses that appeared to do exactly what I needed to get my headaches to go away. Ever since getting the Zeiss DuraVision BlueProtect lenses I barely get any headaches anymore. It’s seriously magical.
What’s crazier though, is that I didn’t even realize what blue light could do to my eyes. It can cause insomnia, macular degeneration and retinal damage. According to the information I received from Shopko about the Zeiss lenses, symptoms your eyes have been overexposed to blue light include blurred vision, tired eyes, HEADACHES and dry eyes.
I feel like a completely new person since getting these lenses. Shopko said Zeiss had just released them a few weeks before my appointment, which was in early July.
My advice here is if your job or lifestyle has you staring at digital screens all day, get your hands on some of these lenses. They’ve been worth every penny for me, and I hope if you’re suffering from headaches like I was, they can do the same for you too. To get a jump-start, check out the Zeiss quick online vision test.
