Exploring Lincoln: Shopping Local at Stella Collective
One of the best places I’ve discovered since I moved to Lincoln many moons ago is Stella Collective. Imagine you’re in the market for some super trendy clothing, vintage home goods and maybe a snake plant for that bare corner of your living room. Well you can get alllll of that in one stop at Stella Collective.
To break it down — Stella Collective is one brick and mortar on 14th St in downtown Lincoln that is made up of three different concepts. Those concepts are Stella Clothing (the clothing branch), Loft and Craft (the vintage home décor branch) and Hunter + Gatherer (the plant branch).
I’ve started to make a habit out of stopping in almost every weekend because they’re constantly getting new things. And I don’t just mean more of the same stuff — the owners go out to estate sales and thrift for a lot of the décor and new plants and clothes are always coming in.
One of my absolute favorite things is the way the store is decorated. The owners decorate based on what they have for sale — so a table that you might think is just there to display sunglasses and jewelry is actually available for purchase. Or the cute seating area your mom is sitting in while she waits for you to try a dress on — it’s all for sale too. And every day it’s rearranged and different. That’s why going in is so much fun, it’s such an inspiring space.
I should also mention that Stella Collective is a First Friday participant (for those of you that don’t know what that is, I’m working on a post — don’t worry!) and it’s so worth wandering off the beaten path to check out the art and everything else in the store.
Bottom line — shop local, because there are some seriously amazing shops right here in Lincoln!
